Topological Characteristics of Oil and Gas Reservoirs and Their Applications

At present no company develops oil and gas fields without constructing geologic and hydrodynamic models. This is due in particular to the fact that recently the emphasis in design, planning and monitoring has shifted to overdissected and low-permeability reservoirs. To assess economic efficiency and optimal placement of wells and to predict hydrocarbon production levels, it is important to have some quantitative representation of the object under study. This requires a mathematical measure of a geological description and mathematical models of the structure of oil and gas reservoirs. The geological modeling based on digital oil and gas reservoirs splits into two parts:
